TS Lines is to launch a new direct service from the Far East to East India via
a joint venture effort with Hanjin and Simatech called the
Far East - East India X-Press Service, the IFX. The three parties
will deploy a total of 5 panamax vessels into the IFX with its maiden voyage
setting sail from Gwangayng on 23rd of August by Hanjin
The IFX service will be calling at Gwangyang - Pusan
- Ningbo - Shekou -
- Port Kelang
- Chennai - Port
- Gwangyang which turns in 35 days.
The launching of the IFX marks TS Lines' third direct string from the Far East
into India with the two other strings CIX & CIX2 calling directly in Nhava Sheva.
While TS Lines have been operating the CIX with HMM/GSL from
/ China to Nhava Sheva for
about two years and have just joined the CIX2
in early August where they join Simatech /Evergreen/ Hapag Llyod/
Yang Ming/ K- Line from North China to Nhava
Sheva. The IFX will be TS Lines' first direct loop from Far
East to Chennai replacing the current slot purchase arrangements via
transhipment at Port Kelang.
